Special Education

The Special Education Department at the high school provides academic learning support for all students with an Individualized Education Plan. In addition, content area courses are taught in mathematics, science, reading, social studies, and English. A work-training program provides an opportunity for students to gain important pre-employment skills. The training opportunities include the school store, cafeteria, library, and other work sites within the school district.

A life skills program is offered to teach adult living skills to eligible students. This program incorporates Community Based Instruction.

The Special Education Department works closely with the guidance department, the Mercer County Career Center, and outside agencies to help special needs students to transition from high school to adult life.
